Kenora resident faces assault with a weapon charge

A Kenora resident is in custody following an arrest warrant.

DRYDEN – Ontario Provincial Police charged a 35-year-old Kenora resident with assault with a weapon at a residence in Dryden.

According to a release, police responded to a report of an assault on Jan. 15 around 8:17 p.m. at a residence in Dryden.

The accused fled the scene prior to police arriving and an arrest warrant was issued for the accused.

OPP officers, Northwest Region Crime Unit, Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, Canine (K-9) and Treaty Three Police Service executed an arrest warrant on Thursday, Feb. 24.

As a result, a 35-year-old Kenora resident has been charged with assault with a weapon, break and enter a place – commit indictable offence, uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm and failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.

The accused has been held in custody.
