Kenora resident facing drug trafficking charges

Police seize drugs, cash and a weapon following an investigation on Wednesday, July 21.

KENORA – A 32-year-old is facing multiple charges following an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in Kenora.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers attempted to arrest a person on Wednesday, July 21 around 3:30 p.m.

Police say after a brief foot pursuit the person was taken into custody.

Drugs, cash and a weapon were seized.

As a result of the investigation, Harley MCLEOD, 32, of Kenora has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-methamphetamine, possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was held for bail.
