Kings announce tryout camp dates

THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay Kings AAA program has announced the dates and times for their upcoming team tryouts for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign.

Each of the four Kings’ squads will commence tryouts next weekend, with the under-13 prospects kicking things off on Friday, Aug. 20 at 4:15 p.m. at Fort William First Nation Arena.

Meanwhile Thunder Bay’s U-15 and U-18 teams will commence their tryouts on Saturday, Aug. 21 and the U-16s get underway on Monday, Aug. 23.

The 2021-22 season is slated to see the U-15, U-16 and U-18 make their debuts in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, after being granted the ability to play in the AAA divisions in the Greater Toronto Hockey League last year.

As for the U-13 Kings, they are scheduled to complete in the U-15 AA Division of the Thunder Bay Minor Hockey Association.

The U-13s will also take part in a pair of weekends against GTHL competition as well, along with a number of out of town tournaments.

Each of the other three clubs will also be on the tournament trail at various points of the season.

Also on the tap will be the various district, regional and provincial championships for the U-13, U-15 and U-18s while the U-16 squad will vie for the OHL Cup.
