THUNDER BAY -- A suspect who allegedly robbed a city convenience store at knifepoint overnight is being sought by police.

Thunder Bay Police Service patrol officers were called to the Mac's convenience store at the corner of Oliver Road and High Street just after midnight on Wednesday after receiving reports of a robbery.

The suspect entered the store with a knife and demanded money from the 24-year-old male store clerk, before leaving with a small amount of cash. The suspect was last seen heading west up the hill on John Street.

The suspect is described as a young man with a skinny build, about 5-foot-7 in height and walked with a slight limp. He was wearing all black clothing, including a zipped-up black hoodie and a black and white balaclava covering his face.
