Knife-wielding suspect sought in northside robbery

Police are searching for a suspect involved in a Subway robbery.

THUNDER BAY – City police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery of a north side restaurant.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a reported robbery that had just taken place on Tuesday at the Subway restaurant on 190 Cumberland Street North at about 7:15 p.m.

The male suspect entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded an employee give him money from the cash register.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a male standing five-feet-six-inches tall with a wide build.

He was wearing dark shoes, grey jogging pants, a black jacket with dark grey sleeves, a black balaclava, dark gloves, a black cap and possibly a black hoodie pulled up over the cap.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
