THUNDER BAY -- Rainy weather has forced organizers of the annual Labour Day picnic to cancel this year’s event.

Organizers called off the Thunder Bay and District Labour Council’s Labour Day picnic Monday morning due to the weather conditions.

“I’ve been ready to cry nonstop,” said Thunder Bay and District Labour Council vice-president Sandra Snider.

“People worked so hard to put this together. We had games for the kids, bouncy castles, a juggler, ponies and a petting zoo, so it’s a real disappointment.”

Snider added that the food purchased for the event was donated to the Salvation Army and the Shelter House.

The event will not be rescheduled for this year.
