TORONTO – A one-point lead after the third quarter disappeared in the fourth and the Lakehead Thunderwolves dropped a sixth straight game and hit the Christmas break six games under .500.

The Wolves (2-8) led the host Toronto Varsity Blues 53-52 after three quarters on Saturday night, but a Callum Baker three-pointer early in the fourth gave the home side the lead for good and they went on to claim a 77-72 win.

Anthony Daudu topped the Varsity Blues with 21 points and 18 boards, while Baker and Noah Ngamba finished with 15.

Harold Santacruz topped LU with 21 points and also had eight rebounds. Chris Sagl was 7-for-13 from the field and wound up with 17 points.

The T-Wolves managed just four points off their bench.

Lakehead returns to action at home on Jan. 5 against Laurentian.
