THUNDER BAY -- Each year, the staff members at Lakehead Public Schools take immense joy in holding the Kindergarten registration event for parents, guardians, and their children. This year, the event will be held online via the Lakehead Public Schools website to enhance accessibility and convenience families.
Parents and guardians are invited to attend Lakehead Public Schools’ Kinder Power Kindergarten registration event on Tuesday, March 1st at 6:30 pm via lakeheadschools.ca. The event will be engaging and creative for children as they partake in a book reading by a Lakehead Public Schools Kindergarten educator team and produce their own work of art in a follow-along activity. The children will be encouraged to be imaginative and will be inspired to discover their own kinder power.
All children who will attend the March 1 online Kindergarten registration event will receive a complimentary gift bag containing the supplies for the event. The gift bags can be picked up by parents and guardians at any Lakehead Public Schools elementary school on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. until the day of the event, Tuesday, March 1. The complimentary gift bag includes a copy of the children’s book “What’s My Superpower?” written by Aviaq Johnston and illustrated by Tim Mack, a Lakehead Public Schools Class of 2036 T-shirt, and washable markers.

Our March 1st online event will highlight the theme of being kind toward others –one of the important values we teach in our classrooms every day,” said AJ Keene, superintendent of education.
Parents and guardians who are choosing Lakehead Public Schools for their child’s education are encouraged to register their child for Kindergarten 2022-2023 at https://www.lakeheadschools.ca/register/. Children do not need to be officially registered to attend the online Kindergarten registration event. All are welcome.
