THUNDER BAY -- Lakehead University Athletics and Wasaya Airways are renewing a unique partnership to First Nations in the Far North.
The program is called "Reach UP". It brings Lakehead coaches and athletes to remote communities to provide mentorship to their youth.
The program encourages the youth to be active and to consider post-secondary education.
Three to four of these "Reach Up" visits happens annually. The next trip is planned for March, to bring Lakehead athletes to Summer Beaver.
