Santa Claus is endorsing public transit, at least for today.
“This is a very economical way to go considering reindeer need food and they have to rest up actually for the big trip coming up,” he said. “It’s the green way to go.”
Santa was riding Thunder Bay Transit Friday for the finale of the Santa Bus campaign to collect food donations for the Thunder Bay Food Bank and monetary donations for the United Way.
“Our food donations are ahead of last year at this point. Although today is usually our big day for donations and we’re hoping for good things,” Santa said.
Before heading back to the North Pole to work on Christmas presents, Santa will be on the bus for the rest of the day travelling the city routes.
