THUNDER BAY -- The former head of the Christmas Cheer Fund, who was accused of defrauding the agency, has launched her own legal action.
Linda Gambee has filed filed a statement of claim against the Royal Canadian Legion in Kakabeka for an incident back in June of 2012.
Gambee is seeking $350,000 from Branch 225.
Court documents allege Gambee was cleaning the Legion's food truck when she fell down the wooden stairs causing serious injury.
Her lawyer alleges that the Legion ought to have known the stair, which were not attached to the trailer, posed an unusual danger and a trap.
The claim says Gambee suffered a concussion, wrist and ankle injuries, depression and chronic pain.
The lawsuit was filed on June 6 and none of the claims have yet been proven in court.
