Local employment stats down for September

Unemployment in Thunder Bay is on the rise. The most recent report from Statistics Canada shows the jobless rate in September was up to 6.9 per cent, from 6.6 per cent in August. In July the rate was 5.7 per cent.

Unemployment in Thunder Bay is on the rise.

The most recent report from Statistics Canada shows the jobless rate in September was up to 6.9 per cent, from 6.6 per cent in August.

In July the rate was 5.7 per cent.

Nationally, the jobless figure was down marginally to eight per cent from 8.1 in August.
