THUNDER BAY -- The city’s gas prices are no longer listed among the worst in the province.
According to the online fuel-price watchdog Ontariogasprices.com, Thunder Bay’s modest drop in gas prices, which saw regular fuel selling for as low as $1.17-a-litre at some stations in the past 24 hours, took it off the list of highest prices in the province.
The highest price reported for Thunder Bay in the last 24 hours was $1.21-per-litre.
Local motorists may still be looking at the GTA with envy, as prices in Toronto took one step closer to falling under the dollar-per-litre milestone. The lowest prices found in that city -- $1.01-per-litre of regular fuel.
But prices are less than a dollar-per-litre nearby. Some gas bars located on Fort William First Nations have prices listed at 97.5-cents-a-litre for regular gasoline.
The worst places to fill up are still in Northern Ontario. According to the gas price monitoring site, the most expensive fuel can be found in Marathon at $1.39-a-litre.
