THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay Gymnastic Association’s Elite Athletes competed in Minneapolis last weekend on Mar. 3 and 4, 2018 at the 23rd Annual Northern Lights Invitational hosted by the Twin City Twisters.

It was their first meet across the border in more than 35 years and they were the only club representing Canada. Competition was steep with some groups against almost 70 other athletes, but TBGA gave a great performance.

In Level 6 age 12 plus, Rhea Scollie placed third on vault, second on beam and third overall and her teammate Alyssa Sullivan placed sixth overall.

In Level 4 age 10, Claire Dubinsky just missed the podium landing fourth on vault and seventh overall and Rebecca Lemieux maintained consistent scoring landing her nineth overall.

Also competing that weekend was Leanna Eade and Shya Boissoneau in Level 3 ages 7 plus, Phoenix Debrusk and Avery Mair in Level 4 age 10, and Charlotte Gregory, Sara Stoppel, Jacey Witiluk and Olivia Brydie in Level 4 age 11 plus. All athletes accomplished some personal bests and goals this competition that will push them towards their final meet in Burlington.
