Local high school student gets noticed at International Science Fair

THUNDER BAY -- A Hammarskjold High School student’s scientific mind has captured international attention.

Hammarskjold Grade 9 student Emily Cross is the first person to represent Thunder Bay at the Intel international Science & Engineering Fair.

A tweet sent by the NWO Science Fair Twitter account - @NWOSF – offered congratulations on the victory.

“Congrats to our NWORSF alumni Emily for her outstanding achievements at ISEF,” the tweet reads.

Emily won the first place award for the American Geoscience Institute's geoscience award and also won the fourth place grand award in the Earth and Environmental Science category.
