Local holiday home turns off the lights for a season

After spreading holiday cheer for over a decade, a local family has decided to take a year off from putting up their elaborate Christmas light display, which attracted hundreds of spectators every year.

Riverview Drive resident Roy Myrefors has been delighting onlookers with his miniature railroad and festive light display since 1997.  After an incredibly busy work schedule recently, he's sorry to say that there was no time to decorate this year.

The display normally takes well over a month to plan and complete.  Myrefors  said he has a lot of fun with the decorating and enjoys meeting people who stop by to take a look.

He has talked to many disappointed neighbours who look forward to seeing the display and has placed an apology sign in his front yard.  But on the bright side, Myrefors said he plans to make a big comeback next season.
