Local lawyer to face Law Society Tribunal in New Year

THUNDER BAY – A local lawyer will be called before the Law Society Tribunal in the New Year.

Francis Thatcher is scheduled to appear before the regulatory body for Ontario lawyers on Feb. 5 to answer a claim he contravened the Law Society Act by engaging in professional misconduct.

The filing alleges Thatcher failed to respond in a timely manner to communication from the law society’s complaints resolution branch, which sent him correspondence on April 30, July 7 and Dec. 1.
