THUNDER BAY -- A small local organization has made it through to the semi-final round in a national competition to secure start-up money.
Now they're asking residents for their support to help Kitty Kare qualify for the finals.
Kitty Kare Thunder Bay is hoping to win $100,000 in the Aviva Community Fund challenge in order to build a local Cat Sanctuary.
They are a non-profit, volunteer organization which rescues cats that would otherwise be euthanized, and provides them with foster homes.
Co-founder Cindy Sakiyama says they're happy to have made it this far, and hope Thunder Bay can help them through to the finals.
To vote for Kitty Kare, you can visit Aviva Community Fund's website and vote once a day.
