THUNDER BAY -- A local realtor has received a prestigious honour.
Vince Mirabelli of RE/MAX Realty has been named the inaugural winner of the Canadian Realtors Care Foundation national award for philanthropy.
Selected from among 18 candidates, Mirabelli was cited for a wide array of charitable contributions.
Most prominent is his establishment of a gala fundraiser for the Northern Cardiac Fund that has raised about half a million dollars.
He has also founded the Vince Mirabelli Paediatric Endowment Fund in support of the hospital's youngest patients.
In recognition of his award, The Foundation has announced it will be making a donation of $5,000 in Mirabelli's name to Thunder Bay's "Our Kids Count" organization.
