Thunder Bay skiers take bronze medal in opening relay at National Championships in Whitehorse.

Lappe Nordic skiers Evan Palmer-Charette and Andy Shields opened their accounts early at the National Cross Country Skiing Championships in Whitehorse on Saturday.

The Thunder Bay residents paired up to contest the team sprint relay where they contested a tight final to finish less than a second out of first place. Both skiers are member of the National Development Center for Cross Country Skiing in Thunder Bay.

Action continues this all week with individual distance and sprint events.
