THUNDER BAY -- Low-income homeowners might qualify for an expanded tax and water relief program now that it's approved.
City council expanded a program, which could see a $100 rebate for both property tax and water bills, Monday night. If the home a person owns is less than $85,000 and the total household income is less than $36,000 they could now be eligible.
The city is the running expansion, it previously only applied to people on Ontario works or disability, as a pilot program and will be reviewed in the fall.
