LU to award former premier with honorary degree

Former Ontario premier Bill Davis will be one of four people awarded honorary degrees from Lakehead University. Davis, who led the province from 1971 to 1985, will be given a doctor of law degree on Saturday morning, the second day of convocation.

Davis, who led the province from 1971 to 1985, will be given a doctor of law degree on Saturday morning, the second day of convocation.

Also being honoured are engineer Tom Brzustowski, a Polish immigrant who went on to chair the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, who is getting doctor of science; John K. Naysmith, the former director of LU’s school of forestry, who is being named a fellow of the university and marine biologist Ronald O’Dor, who is also getting a doctor of science.

Convocation will take place over two days, beginning on Friday.
