THUNDER BAY -- A new year means more people resolving to get fit.
The Canada Games Complex has been busier than normal, with more people purchasing memberships to try to make 2016 their healthiest year yet. Adult fitness and wellness program supervisor Darrik Smith said the members who make fitness their New Year's resolution usually dwindle down by February. He believes it's because people are not setting realistic goals.
Smith adds that for people who are new to fitness, there are certain areas and training that are available to make everyone at ease at the Complex.
There are more ways than weight training to get in shape and make fitness part of a lifestyle, not just a one month fad Smith said.
