THUNDER BAY -- An unnamed 24-year-old intellectually challenged male has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

In a release issued on Tuesday, Thunder Bay police say they seized nine items after executing a search warrant in the 500 block of Simon Fraser Drive on Aug. 8, 2016. Police recovered a laptop, two external hard drives, an iPhone and five USB sticks.

“An examination of the items was conducted which showed evidence of child pornography,” said Const. Julie Tilbury.

The suspect was charged on Monday and appeared in court on Tuesday.

He’s been released pending a future court date.
