An 83-year-old-man remains in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash in the city’s south end.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Waterloo Street and Arthur Street just before 11 a.m. Thursday.

Police say a car made a left turn out of a parking lot on Waterloo when a truck struck the driver’s side door.

Paramedics took both drivers to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The 66-year-old-woman who was driving a pickup truck at the time of the incident was treated and released while the 83-year-old-man remains in critical condition.

Police had redirected traffic along Waterloo but have since reopened that stretch of road.

The investigation is ongoing.
