The man accused of being involved in a fatal 2011 hit-and-run is back behind bars.
Ashley Rheal Shabogomik was arrested Wednesday by Nishnawbe Aski Police for breach of probation, and breaching his bail conditions.
The 30-year-old was first arrested in mid-November, more than 13 months after a stolen truck collided with another vehicle at the corner of Leland Street and Victoria Avenue. The crash claimed the life of 60-year-old Joyce Ryan and caused serious injuries to her husband, Philip.
Shabogomik was charged with criminal negligence and dangerous driving causing death, along with leaving the scene of an accident and possession of stolen property.
He was released on bail in December, pending his trial.
The judge ordered him to remain at his father's home on the Aroland First Nation at all times, and refrain from drugs and alcohol. Police will not say what this week's breach was related to.
Shabogomik will now remain in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for Feb. 11.
