THUNDER BAY — A man faces trafficking charges after allegedly dealing crack cocaine from a city bus shelter on Thursday.

Officers arrested a 29-year-old Thunder Bay man just before noon on Thursday after responding to reports of ongoing drug trafficking activity at a transit stop in the 100 block of May Street North, according to a release from the Thunder Bay Police Service.

The man “appeared to be in the process of concluding a drug transaction” when officers arrived, the force stated.

The police service reported that officers seized a quantity of crack cocaine along with cash and paraphernalia consistent with trafficking while making the arrest.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, and stands charged with possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking, and possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.

He appeared in bail court on Friday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
