THUNDER BAY - A 24-year old male was arrested and charged with four separate offences after trying to flee police by foot on Wednesday.

Police were on scene to respond to an anonymous call of shots fired in the 288 Windsor Street complex area, just before 8 p.m.

Police arrived and spoke to multiple people in the area who told officers they did not hear gun fire.

Thereafter, a male at the scene attempted to run from police after conversing with them.

He was apprehended after a foot chase in the Brittany Drive and Carl Avenue area, which took police across the Thunder Bay Expressway.

The 24-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and charged with obstruct police for providing a false name to the officer, resisting arrest, and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

A search of the area did not substantiate the claim of gunshots in the area.
