Man arrested for threatening, pointing handgun at youth

THUNDER BAY -- A 38-year-old man has been arrested for uttering threats to a group of teenagers on the city's south side on Sunday.

THUNDER BAY -- A 38-year-old man has been arrested for uttering threats to a group of teenagers on the city's south side on Sunday.

A Thunder Bay Police Service release says the accused "appeared to be armed with a handgun at the time of the incident."  

Police responded to a 911 call in the area of Prince Arthur Boulevard and Ogden Street around 8:00 p.m. to investigate allegations a man had been pointing a gun at a group of youth.

Police took the man into custody at his home on the 600 block of Prince Arthur Boulevard, where a replica handgun was seized.  

He has been charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

A court date has been set for Oct. 20.
