THUNDER BAY - A man who pleaded guilty to a charge of luring a child in 2014 has been arrested again and charged with several child pornography related offenses.
According to a Thunder Bay Police Service media release, 32-year-old Matthew William Lovering of Thunder Bay, turned himself in to police Monday afternoon.
The arrest follows an investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit after receiving a complaint from officials with a social media messenger service in March 2018.
Lovering was identified as a suspect and a search warrant was executed at a south-side home last November where police seized various devices.
Detectives attempted to make contact with Lovering to encourage him to turn himself in, which he did at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday.
Lovering has been charged with luring a child, accessing child pornography, and making sexually explicit material available to a minor.
He made a court appearance Tuesday morning has been remanded into custody.
In February 2014, Lovering was arrested and charged with invitation to sexual touching, luring a child, breach of probation, and failing to comply with an undertaking after an investigation into suspicious ad on an online classified website from a man claiming to be a photographer and looking for young male models between the ages of six and 13-years-old.
