THUNDER BAY -- Police are on the hunt for a male suspect wanted in an attempted robbery Monday night at a Dawson Road bank.

In a release issued on Tuesday morning, police say a 56-year-old female was using the automated teller machine at the TD Bank location at County Fair when a man approached her from behind and ordered her to turn over cash, verbally threatening her.

Staff heard the commotion and came out, at which time the suspect fled through the shopping plaza parking lot.

Police say the suspect is a Caucasian male about 30 years old, standing just 5-foot-5. He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie with green and white reflective tape on the back, a dark-coloured ball cap and sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 684-1200 or submit a tip online to Crime Stoppers at www.tipsubmit.com.
