A local man has been charged with mischief after a standoff with police Wednesday night.
Police responded to the 300 block of Bay Street around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after a man called 911 saying he had three people tied up in his apartment and was going to harm them.
Police, including the Emergency Task Unit blocked off streets around the area to try and resolve the situation.
At 11:30 p.m. a 39-year-old man was taken into custody by police in the apartment. A search found no hostages.
The man will appear in court Thursday on charges of public mischief for leading police into a false investigation and breach of a peace bond.
