Man charged with murder in death of KI woman

WAPEKEKA FIRST NATION, Ont. -- A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder in the death of a Kitchenuhmayooosib Inninuwug First Nation woman.

Police were called to a home on Church Road in Wapekeka First Nation around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, where they found the body of 30-year-old Rosalyn Boyce, according to an OPP news release issued Sunday evening.

Jeffrey Gary Winter of Wapekeka First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder. Winter has been remanded into custody and is expected to appear in Kenora court on Friday.

The provincial police's North West Region Crime Unit and forensic identification services unit continue to investigate the death.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted in Toronto on Wednesday.

The charge has not been proven in court.
