Man convicted of child pornography faces new charges

THUNDER BAY – City police have laid new child pornography related charged against 70-year-old Michael Danial Bewcyk late last week.

According to Thunder Bay Police Service, officers with the cyber crime unit executed a search warrant Dec. 7 on a Franklin Street North home.

As a result, police located and seized two computers along with printed materials.

Thunder Bay forensic examiners conducted an examination of the seized and found illicit material.

Police have charged Michael Danial Bewcyk, 70, with possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Bewcyk appeared in court Friday and was remanded into custody with a future date of Jan. 3, 2019.
