NIPIGON, Ont. – OPP officers on Friday made what might have been their easiest license suspension to date.

A 48-year-old man drove to the Nipigon OPP detachment for an administrative matter when officers to whom he was speaking noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath.

The officers performed a roadside test and issued a three-day driver’s license suspension.

Under the Highway Traffic Act, a license can be suspended for any driver operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of at least 0.05.

The first time results in a three-day suspension, a second offence warrants a seven-day suspension and the third will cost a driver to lose their license for a month.
