Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry release

A Woodbridge area man has been fined $4,000 for an offence under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Lorenzo Angelucci pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for people or property. In addition to the fine, he received a one-year hunting suspension and must complete the Ontario Hunter Education Course before he can purchase another hunting licence.

Court heard that on October 18, 2016, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers responded to a tip from the public about careless hunting on Boundary Road, about 50 kilometres east of Dryden. Officers investigated and determined that Angelucci was standing on Boundary Road when he shot down the roadway at a bull moose which was also on the road.

Justice of the Peace Daisy Hoppe heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Dryden, on February 8, 2018.
