Police charged a male with impersonating an officer and breaking and entering on Saturday.

Thunder Bay Police Service received a call from a north side hotel early Saturday morning. Police say a Caucasian male in his 20s told the hotel reception that he was an undercover officer from Manitoba and required a room for the night.

A hotel staff member called police to check the credentials. Police say they found the male in the hotel room and arrested him. Police say he wasn’t in any uniform only had a pair of handcuffs

Police wanted to remind everyone that all police, whether in plain clothes or in uniform, carry proper identification, which include a badge and warrant card.
