Police have charged a 72-year-old man with two counts of indecent assault and five counts of sexual assault.
Officials with the Thunder Bay detachment of the OPP announced Tuesday afternoon that officers had been investigating a number of reports of sexual offences against a man who worked in several First Nations communities in Northwestern Ontario.
The investigations began in 1994.
The accused was last charged by police as a result of these investigations in 2009.
Since 2009, police say new information has surfaced.
On April 22, police charged Ralph Rowe, 72, of Surrey, B.C., with the two counts of indecent assault and five counts of sexual assault.
Police say the charges relate to incidents that took place between 1973 and 1986.
The alleged incidents took place within the communities of Fort Severn, Big Trout Lake, Wunnumin Lake and Kingfisher lake.
The accused is expected to appear in a Kenora courtroom on May 31.
