THUNDER BAY - A Thunder Bay man charged with sexual interference dating back to the early 1990s has pleaded guilty and will spend the next two and a half years in custody.
On Monday, Oct. 30, 71-year-old, Ronald Bortolon, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual interference and was sentenced to 30 months on each count to be served concurrently. He is also required to submit a DNA sample and has a no-contact order against him.
Bortolon was arrested in November, 2015 and charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference. The charges of assault and invitation to sexual touching were later dropped.
The charges against Bortolon date back to a period between 1991 and 2007. Details of the case are subject to a publication ban.
