The reconstruction of a bridge on the south side of Thunder Bay may be finished earlier than expected.
Construction crews began repairing a bridge on May Street at the end of April. The project was expected to last five months, finishing up around the middle of September. But Project Engineer Mike Vogrig said they've already completed about 60-to-65-percent of the project.
He added that it now looks like they may finish the job sometime in the middle or end of August.
May Street has been reduced from four to two lanes along the bridge since the work began and the speed limit was reduced to 30-kilometres per hour.
LH North and JML Engineering are the companies working on the million-dollar project.
Vogrig expects the project will remain on budget.
