Don McArthur is back as Schreiber’s mayor.
Six months ago he took a temporary leave to pursue an opportunity to work as the town manager of Pickle Lake. McArthur returned to Schreiber this week saying the decision to return to the mayor's seat was an easy one, but also one that he didn't feel comfortable making on his own. So with the blessing from council, McArthur was been re-instated Tuesday.
Coun. Mark Figliomeni stepped in as acting mayor during McArthur's absence. He said it was quite an experience being put in charge during some difficult times. The team around him gave him plenty of support, which helped ease the transition he added.
