THUNDER BAY -- Krista McCarville's march to the Olympics will begin on Oct. 20 against Alberta's Selena Sturmay.

McCarville, lead Sarah Potts, second Ashley Sippala and third Kendra Lilly will enter the trials as the No. 6 seed, of eight teams in the hunt for a final spot at the Olympic trials in Halifax.

The pre-trials take place in Wolfville, N.S.

The Thunder Bay rink and reigning Northern Ontario women's champions, who qualified for the pre-trials after winning their final four games on home ice at this year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts, will follow their opener later that night against Alberta's Myla Plett.

Also on their slate are Ontario's Danielle Inglis, B.C.'s Kayla MacMillan and Beth Peterson, and Saskatchewan's Ashley Thevenot and Nancy Martin.

The pre-trials wrap up on Oct. 26 and the Olympic Curling Trials will take place from Nov. 22 to Nov. 30 in the Nova Scotia capital.
