McGuinty still has time to change mind about Northern debate

There’s still time for Dalton McGuinty to change his mind and enter the Northern leaders’ debate Friday morning.

There’s still time for Dalton McGuinty to change his mind and enter the Northern leaders’ debate Friday morning.

Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association president Ron Nelson said there have been conversations with McGuinty’s handlers.

"We have not had a confirmation that he will totally not be here. The door is open," Nelson said.

The Liberal leader could show up at the debate at 10 a.m. Friday morning, an hour before the scheduled exchange between NDP leader Andrea Horwath and the Progressive Conservative’s Tim Hudak, and still be welcomed.

Because the debate is part of the Northwestern Ontario Regional Conference at the Valhalla Inn, those wishing to attend must pre-register and pay $95. To register or watch the debate live online, visit www.noma.on.ca
