THUNDER BAY -- McNasty Brass Band is a 10-person group of Minneapolis/Saint Paul-based horn players and percussionists that fuse the Minneapolis sound with the spirit of New Orleans.
The outcome is hard-hitting dance music and high-energy live shows. Each player works tirelessly outside McNasty Brass Band as a side-man, some with national and international touring acts. That’s what makes McNasty special-- these side-men come together and showcase their compositions, solos, group vocals, and stage presence as front-men. “McNasty Brass Band is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t make fun of the kid who is super into trumpet in 5th grade”
Not only is McNasty excited to return to Thunder Bay, but they can’t wait to perform at Crocks’ new venue. Their first Crocks show, in its previous location, they squeezed all 10 members on stage and had to remove ceiling tiles to allow the sousaphone to stand upright.
Regardless of the intimate stage, it was an absolute blast playing for a crowd that was ready to dance. Thanks to Crocks’ new venue upgrade, McNasty Brass Band can’t wait to put on a weekend of killer shows using the new stage and sound system. They’re confident it will allow them to put on an even better show for the great concert-goers of Thunder Bay.
McNasty Brass Band is proud to announce their return to Thunder Bay this time for an entire weekend. They will be at Crocks' new location on Oct. 12, and Oct. 13. Supporting act will be local group Milton Shushack and The Absolute Pleasures. This is a 19+ show with doors at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at loffredo.ca.
