A few Thunder Bay seniors got a surprise visit from a familiar face Wednesday when their Meals on Wheels delivery arrived.
Acting Mayor Larry Hebert spent the morning packing up and delivering nutritious meals to some local seniors to help celebrate the Nationwide Mayors for Meals Day. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the program while promoting healthy eating for seniors.
Hebert says he is excited to share this day with such a great organization and had a great time interacting with the seniors in the community.
This year, 300 mayors across North America are expected to participate in the annual event.
