Michael Gibson dies in Highway 502 rollover

DRYDEN, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police have identified a 40-year-old man as the victim of a single-vehicle collision on Highway 502, south of Dryden, on Monday.

Police said Michael Gibson of Worthington, Ontario was driving a highway line-painting truck southbound when it went out of control and left the roadway, rolling over near Rattlesnake Creek.

The accident occurred just before 11:30 a.m.

Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem was scheduled for Tuesday in Kenora.

The cause of the accident, which forced the complete closure of the highway for two-and-a-half hours, remains under investigation.

Highway 502 links Highway 11 east of Fort Frances with Highway 17 near Dryden.
