The start of the outdoor golf season might be a few months away, but that doesn’t mean one can’t sharpen up their short game with a round of indoor mini-putt.
The fourth annual Valhalla Inn-Door Golf Open in support of the United Way Thunder Bay was held on Friday, featuring a unique assortment of hole creations that challenged the skills and creativity of participants.
“It’s a great fundraiser for the United Way and it’s a lot of fun,” Jules Tupker, United Way Thunder Bay board president said. “This is enjoyable, everybody seems to have a really good time.”
The 18-hole course is spread throughout the entire main floor, including an island green set up in the swimming pool.
“They up the entire hotel and we also have one right in the middle of Timbers so that should keep everybody busy,” said Valhalla Inn general manager Mary McLellan.
The holes were designed by businesses as well as local agencies, such as the Regional Food Distribution Association.

The event has a goal of raising $12,000.
