Ministry of Labour investigating workplace incident

The Ministry of Labour is investigating a workplace accident on the outskirts of Thunder Bay, in which a young worker fell off a roof Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on Willow Park Drive, off Dawson Road. An employee with John Buckley Roofing was working at a home on the street and fell about eight feet from the roof onto a concrete sidewalk. 

Thunder Bay Poilce Service officers were called to the scene, along with paramedics and fire and rescue personnel.

A spokesperson with the Ministry says the young man was unconscious for a short time, but had come to by the time rescue crews arrived and transported him to hospital. There's no word on the extent of his injuries.
