York Regional Police Media Release
York Regional Police have located a body in the City Markham during a search for a missing Markham woman.
On January 23, 2016 at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers conducting a search for missing woman Taneesha Brown, whose mother resides in Thunder Bay, located a bodyunder the ice in a pond in the area of Edward Jeffreys Avenue and Markham Road.
The identity of the body has not been confirmed at this time. The coroner has been called in and will be attending to determine the identity and the cause of death.
A formal statement will be provided to the media at 1:30 p.m. today at the location of the command post.
