MNR sending more Northwest resources to assist with Timmins blaze

Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources is deploying more crews from the Northwest to assist in firefighting efforts near Timmins.

Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources is deploying more crews from the Northwest to assist in firefighting efforts near Timmins.

Fire Information Officer Trevor Gauthier says 16 more fire rangers and 15 overhead staff members will be sent out Friday. 

That's on top of more than 200 rangers, 75 overhead staff members and 23 aircrafts that have already been shipped to the area that is threatened by area forest fires.

Two more water bombers and 10 helicopters will also be sent out by end of day Friday.
